September Plans

logo

I am so very tired. So, so very tired. I am not sure how I am going to get anything done for the shop or my festival or the gifts I need to finish. I am just exhausted.

September started the real fun of going to school full time (5 classes for 17 credit-hours), working full time (45 hours a week on average with a daily commute of about 1.5 hours), plus trying to keep some semblance of order in my house (luckily the teenager has been a big help here), and try to keep things running during my busy season.
However, my total exhaustion and lack of time is greatly contributing to a pretty bad busy season so far. 😦

Hello March

logo

March is back to the real work. I have a few skirts I need to finish for St Patrick’s Day, please I have a pretty full month with my crochet schedule. Add in several doctor’s appointments, a trip to Phoenix, and a visit from my best friend, well, it could definitely get a little crazy in my house.

But, we shall see how it all goes! March will see the shop staying on vacation mode, and hopefully tearing through some of this yarn I just bought. 😀

Welcome to 2017!

happy-new-year-2017-wallpaper_16

I am excited for the new year. I have some fairly elaborate plans, and am hoping that things pan out.

As far as goals for 2016, here is where I stand.

150 items in the shop by the end of 2016.
Technically, this has happened, if I reactivated all of my made to order items. However, with the shop on just finished items, ready to ship only, I am under 100.

I managed to sell 295 items last year…my goal was 52…so this year, my goal is to sell 350 items.
246 sales for 270 items. I am a little disappointed that I didn’t hit my goal, but it was super aggressive, and with so many of my sales last year being that shark pattern when it went crazy on Facebook, I am overall pleased with how well I did this year. I made about 10% less this year than I did last year, but I also took a lot more time off than I normally would, with the wedding and a few of the larger custom orders I had.

Attend 5 craft fairs this year.
I only ended up attending 4. I am quite okay with that. I knocked one of them off my list completely, and the other 3 are ones I will continue to attend.

Goals for 2017….

I am not setting an item goal. My focus this year is going to be on introducing new products. I have a big plan laid out that I will share in tomorrow’s post.

Update this blog at least once a week.

Sell 350 items. I am sticking with this one. This one will bring me joy. 🙂

Attend 3 craft fairs. Soka University, Patchwork Santa Ana Spring and Patchwork Santa Ana Fall. I don’t have the time to stock for more than that, and I know that these are good, solid shows.

October Wrap Up

logo

October was not quite as busy as I had expected. I raised the price on my candy corns, and I think that actually tanked my sales. Which is good and bad, I wasn’t prepared for a ton of sales, so at least I wasn’t behind. And, I now know the price threshold for that product.

I had 44 sales for 48 items, so pretty great, but only made about 3/4 of what I did last year…

As far as my goals for October,

  • Stuff I need to make
    • 1 Halloween amigurumi (Done, I made an awesome bat!)

  • Stuff I need to finish:
    • Candy corns (Done!)

  • Stuff I  would like to make some progress on
    • Elephant pillows Christmas order (I am actually about halfway done with one)
    • The first doll in the new line (haha…but, I did start another new doll for another new line)
    • 1 kitty koi corner to corner blanket (sadly, my lowest priority) (nope)

  • Events I will be attending
    • None this month

And here is October in review…

October 2013

  • 2 sales for 2 items

October 2014

  • 11 sales for 12 items

October 2015

Candy corns are still my primary focus this month. Most of my Halloween orders are candy corns, so I need to make sure I am good that way. My biggest goal this month is to keep up with orders.

  • Stuff I need to make
    • 1 Halloween amigurumi

  • Stuff I need to finish:

    • None this month

September Wrap Up

September was a whirlwind! I spent a week with my best friend trying to get ready for the wedding, had the wedding, then spent 4 days at Disney, then spent the rest of the week trying to catch up on the household chores, like laundry and cleaning, then I spent 2 days at a huge music festival! So, shop wise, my focus was definitely elsewhere this month. But, I did get all orders out on time, and I am pretty proud of that. 🙂

I had 40 sales for 40 items, so pretty great, but only about 3/4 of what I did last year…

As far as my goals for September,

  • Stuff I need to make
    • Candy corns (this is constant, but I did make a bunch)
    • 2 Amigurumi for wedding (done! you can see them here and here!)

  • Stuff I need to finish:
    • Candy corns (constant right now, but I did finish several)

  • Stuff I  would like to make some progress on
    • The first doll in the new line (I am not even sure where she is right now)
    • 1 kitty koi corner to corner blanket (sadly, my lowest priority) (one day…)

  • Events I will be attending
    • None this month
